Who we are

VOICE (Volunteers Organizing Initiatives for Community Empowerment) is a global collective of dedicated volunteers committed to making a positive impact in South Sudan, but in particular, Magwi County. Our mission is to uplift the community by focusing on critical areas such as infrastructure, health, education, and agriculture. Through collaboration and shared purpose, we strive to create lasting change.

Improving Education

  • Increase student enrollment and retention by enhancing education quality and services.
  • Equip the County Education department with modern teaching methods and research skills.
  • Expand educational offerings to meet job market and societal demands.

Infrastructure Development

  • Improving existing roads, constructing new ones, and ensuring connectivity to remote areas will facilitate transportation of goods, services, and people.
  • Invest in water supply systems, boreholes, and wells to provide safe drinking water.
  • Investing in energy infrastructure i.e solar electricity and generators.

Improvement in Agriculture

  • Encourage sustainable farming practices such as crop diversification, agroforestry and conservation agriculture.
  • Access to agricultural inputs and Technology. i.e irrigation systems, seeds and Farm machinery.
  • Offering capacity building and extension services – training farmers, market linkage and climate resilient practices.

Health Impact

  • Community Health Education and Awareness: Health literacy and seminers, awareness campaigns and workshops.
  • Healthcare Infrastructure and Access: raising awareness about common health issues.
  • Maternal and Child Health: parental care, child immunization and nutrition programs.

General Assembly

  • The General Assembly represents the collective voice of all members. It is the largest body within the organization.
  • Composition: It includes all registered members who meet the eligibility criteria.

Board of Trustees

  • The Board of Trustees serves as the governing body responsible for strategic oversight and long-term planning.
  • Composition: Comprised of experienced individuals with diverse backgrounds (e.g., legal, financial, community development)

Executive Committee

  • The Executive Committee is the operational arm of the organization, responsible for day-to-day management.
  • Composition: Typically consists of elected officers (e.g., President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer).

VOICE South Sudan shall have its main headquarters in Juba South Sudan, with branches in Torit and Magwi. As we grow, we shall also have offices in the diasporan regions of North America, Australia and Europe.

 VOICE comprises 140 passionate general members and dedicated boards of trustees from North America, Australia, Europe, and South Sudan. Together, we bridge cultures and work hand in hand for positive change.

Where are VOICE’s main headquarters and sub-branches located?

 VOICE’s main headquarters is in Juba, South Sudan. We also have sub-branches in Magwi and Torit. As we expand our reach, additional branches may be established in other areas.

Is VOICE affiliated with any political party or ideology?

No, VOICE is non-partisan. We operate independently of any political affiliations or biases. Our focus is solely on community empowerment and positive impact, regardless of political leanings.

Who can join VOICE as a member?

To become a member of VOICE, you must meet the following criteria:
